Choosing the right size of pyramid, cube or sphere for your space
What size stone suits a desk, a bookshelf or a living room? Tips on choosing size and shape by area and layout.
The same pyramid design feels completely different at 5 cm and at 20 cm. The right size lets the stone sit in harmony with the space instead of getting lost or overpowering it.
General rules
The stone should take up about 1/10 – 1/6 of the width of the surface it sits on.
Seen from where you usually sit or stand, it should be big enough to read its shape but not block your view.
A minimalist space suits one large piece; a busy space suits a few small pieces grouped together.
Ideas by location
Desk
A 4–6 cm pyramid or cube in a corner of the desk, next to the screen. Small enough to stay out of the way, yet it stands out on the desktop.
Bookshelf, TV unit
A 7–10 cm piece; a sphere on a metal stand makes an accent among the book spines.
Living room, lobby, reception desk
A 15–25 cm piece on a console table or a tall shelf — big enough to become the focal point.
In feng shui belief
Many people place a pyramid on the desk hoping to stay focused, a cube where they want a sense of stability, and a sphere in the living room for fulfilment. These are cultural beliefs — treat them as ideas for the story of your stone, and go with what makes you feel at ease.
